Chalet Etoile Polaire in Summer

When the snow disappears, the Alps come to life as a superb summer destination. Crystal-clear mountain air, outstanding natural scenery and long hours of sunshine tempered by a warm climate...what better environment to relax and revitalise. But when you want to do more, you can explore historic Sion, Switzerland’s oldest town, walk alongside the highest dam in Europe at Dixence, take a boat trip on the underground lake of St Leonard, marvel at the weird rock formations of the Pyramides d’Euseigne, visit quaint chocolate-box alpine villages or go wine-tasting at local vineyards. Sporting activities include walking beside "the bisses" (ancient water irrigation channels); hiking and climbing at altitude; mountain biking - try the day trip along the amazing 44 km cycle trail which takes you to the top of one of the highest mountains in the 4 Valleys or play golf at one of seven world-class courses within an hour's drive see www.golfcrans.ch or www.golfclubsion.ch
